Hi, my name is Dmitri
Veteran. Father. Advocate for Thompson’s Future.
I’m running for the Thompson School Board to bring servant leadership, transparency, and long-term vision to our schools—so every student has the opportunity to thrive.
I’m Dmitri Atrash, a Colorado native raised in Aurora and now proud to call Loveland home. My wife Kate teaches in the Thompson School District, and our two daughters attend school here. We’re deeply invested in this community—not just as residents, but as a family that believes in the power of strong public education and civic engagement.
Before settling in Loveland in 2023, I served our country as a U.S. Naval Aviator. Over the course of a decade-long military career, I flew the Navy’s newest aircraft—the P-8A Poseidon and MQ-4C Triton—in complex and high-stakes missions across the globe. I developed a deep appreciation for leadership, accountability, and strategic thinking—skills I carry with me into every challenge I take on.
After my military service, I turned my focus to public impact through technology. I earned a Master’s in Web Design and Development from the University of Denver and have spent the past decade designing modern, accessible digital tools that help people connect, learn, and thrive. My work has always centered around people—ensuring that solutions are inclusive, equitable, and built with the end user in mind.
Now, I’m stepping up to serve our community in a new way: by running for the Thompson School District Board of Education. I bring the discipline of military service, the problem-solving mindset of a designer, and the heart of a father and husband who wants every child in our district to succeed.
Together, we can build a school system that’s focused, resilient, and prepared for the future.
What Drives me
I believe in servant leadership. My military background taught me the value of listening first and acting with purpose. I’m committed to transparent, two-way communication—through town halls, school visits, and digital outreach—to ensure every voice in our district is heard and valued.
Supporting Teachers and Staff
As the husband of a dedicated Thompson School District teacher, I see the challenges our educators face every day. I’ll advocate for fair compensation, strong support systems, and professional development that empowers teachers to thrive and students to succeed.
Innovating for Impact
Our students deserve more than just tradition—they deserve a system that evolves with them. From expanding career and technical education to supporting modern classrooms, I’ll champion forward-thinking strategies that prepare every student for life beyond graduation.
Looking Towards the Future
Our decisions today shape the future of our community. I’ll lead with long-term vision, making smart, sustainable investments in academics, mental health, and school safety—ensuring our district remains a place families are proud to call home.
I’m committed to building a school system that not only meets today’s needs, but prepares every student to lead, serve, and succeed in tomorrow’s world.
I believe strong leadership begins with strong values. These principles guide every decision I make and reflect my commitment to our schools and our community.
