While Thompson School District (TSD) has achieved a commendable 91.1% graduation rate as of 2023 , significant disparities persist among student groups. Data reveals that 27% of eighth graders are three grade levels behind in reading, and 31% are similarly behind in math . These gaps disproportionately affect students from marginalized communities, including English language learners and students with disabilities.

To address these inequities, I advocate for targeted interventions such as early literacy programs, culturally responsive teaching, and equitable resource allocation. By focusing on inclusive curricula and supporting educators with the necessary tools and training, we can create an environment where every student feels valued and has the opportunity to succeed.
